BLOOMINGTON, May 29. — Richard Shores of Bloomington and Paul” Boxell of Indianapolis’ today were informed they won the Fourth ' District Ascap Fellowship Competition for composers and authors of college musical plays. : The award was made for their work with the Indiana University Jordan River vue of 1940, for which Mr. Shores composed the music and Mr. Boxell wrote the book. vik & The two students are to share the $720 prize fund in continuing their studies of music and play writing. y _ Mr. Shores is a graduate student in the School of Music. ‘Mr. Boxell, a senior, is to graduate with honors from the School of Arts and Sciences next week. - | The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Sponsored the competition for the first time this year, / Also considered were shows of other schools in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee.
