Variety Club's Movie to Show Charitable Work Accomplished

NOT THE LEAST of the entertainment at tomorrow night's Variety Club charity show at the Lyric will be a movie “short” sandwiched between two complete vaudeville shows.. The film will take up only a small portion of the promised two and 2 half hours of fun. But for all its brevity it may prove to many of

Emphasis is on medical and surgical aid for children and contribution to their comfort and general welfare. Hospital wings have been constructed, iron lungs purchased, hospital rooms and surgeries equipped and blood and milk banks established. | Charities of a non-medical nature have included gifts of food

children, both through the Variety Clubs and other local agencies. Here in Imianapolis the Variety Club spent $7000 last. year. Among the activities was a Christmas party in which $1000 was spent to buy a gift for the patients of various hospitals and institutions. Other portions of the sum went as contributions to the Red Cross, Community Fund and Clothe<A-Child campaigns.

For 1940-41 the national Variety Clubs have pledged $300,000 for charitable purposes, and the Indianapolis Tent intends to make its contribution considerably larger. Tomorrow night's show is the first of several performances which are planned in the future to secure Indianapolis “Rarkers” a larger scope of activity.

riety Club. From 6 to 9:45 p.m. tickets will be at the Variety Club,
