Propylaesum to Elect New Board Officers Tomorrow
The board of directors of the Propylaeum will meet tomorrow at the Propylaeum to elect officers. Mrs. Paul E. Fisher and Mrs. Hugh Carpenter were elected new members of the board of directors yesterday at the annual stockholders’ meeting. Mesdames Albert Seaton, Edson T. Wood and John G. Rauch were reelected to the board.
Dramatic Club Announces New Officers Elias C. Atkins was elected president of the Dramatic Club at the dinner and dance held recently at the Woodstock Club. Other officers named were Miss Irving Moxley, vice president; Lyman S. Ayres, secretary, and Reily G. Adams, treasurer. Miss Nina Brown, Mrs. Henry J. Peirce and Evans Woollen Jr. were elected directors.
Day Nursery to Hold Election Today Officers were to be elected today at a meeting of the Junior Auxiliary to the Indianapolis Day Nursery. Committee reports were to be heard and plans made for the annual picnic for the children of the nursery and their parents, June 7.
Ward Belmont Alumnae Name Leaders Mrs. George A. Van Dyke Jr. was elected president of the Ward Belmont Alumnae Club at’ a recent meeting. Other officers named are Mrs. M. Stanley McComas, vice president; Mrs. John Moriarty, secretary, and Mrs. Nathan T. Washburn Jr., treasurer.
Elinor Stickney Guest at Tea Mrs. Conrad Ruckelshaus will entertain with a tea this afternoon in honor of Miss Elinor Stickney, whose marriage to Lorenz Oscar Schmidt of Chicago will be June 5. Miss Stickney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Stickney.
Mary Elizabeth Jones to Be Wed June 1 Miss Mary Elizabeth Jones has chosen June 1 as the date for her marriage to Vernon Charlés Roth. The ceremony will be read before the immediate families in the study of Dr. George A. Frantz, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Miss Jones is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Ralston Jones.
Southern Club to Give Speedway Dinner The Southern Club will have a Speedway Dinner Dance Friday night at the Woodstock Club. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Final Report on Cancer Army's 1940 Enlistment Due June 4; Control Society Aid to Speak
Final reports on the results of the 1940 enlistment campaign of the Indiana Division of the Women’s Field Army Against Cancer Control will be made June 4 in the Claypool Hotel. The meeting will begin 11:30 a. m. and continue through luncheon. Dr. Frank L. Rector of Evanston, Ill, field representative of the American Society for Control of Cancer, will be in Indianapolis June 3 .

The first complete report on results in the 1940 enlistment campaign of the Indiana division has been received at state headquarters in the Claypool from Mrs. Helen Van Cleve Leonard of Hartford City, Blackford County captain. The little county of Blackford with 14,000 population was given a quota of 140 enlistments. Mrs. Leonard nearly doubled it, turning in 256 names and $256 to the can-cer-fighting fund. Mrs. F. B. Mountain of Connersville, Fayette County captain, has reported $123 from her territcey.
Parties Slated At Riviera
Mrs. Thomas L. Weber will have charge of arrangements for a women's luncheon bridge party tomorrow at the Riviera Club. Assisting her will be Mesdames Robert H. Shelhorn, George Sleeth and W. W. Peet. This is the second luncheon-bridge event at the club this spring. Captains and team members of the membership and invitational campaign at the Club met for dinner last night in the Club's dining room. Three Girl Scout troops of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church will hold their court of awards following a dinner at 7 p. m. today in the Club. Mrs. S. A. Sullivan, troop com=mittee chairman, is in charge of arrangements. Theodore Van Voorhees heads a committee in charge of plans for a Bradley Polytechnic Alumnae dinner at 7 p. m. Friday at the Club. Other activities include a St. Thomas Aquinas dance Thursday night and a Marion County Welfare dinner at 5:30 p. m, Thursday. Miss Georgia Jean Giddings heads the arrangements committee for the dinner. Memorial Day has been set as opening day for the Riviera outdoor swimming pool.
Spade and Trowel To Hold Guest Tea

Spurs Pledges 25 Freshmen
Twenty Indianapolis co-eds and five from other cities have been pledged to Spurs, Butler University sophomore women’s society, it was announced recently by Miss Betty Walsh, Indianapolis, president, Service to the university, scholarship and character are the requirements of the organization. Indianapolis pledges are Misses Irene Judith Westervelt, Kathleen Shockley, Martha Lou Sunderland, Frances Risk, Betty Jane Kreuger, Jean Buschman, Virginia Lewis, _ Margaret Studebaker, Suzanne Masters, Barbara Frederickson, Elizabeth Marshall, Martha Jo Rune yan, Mary Janet Mummert, Kathe erine Parrish, Patricia Sylvester, Edelie Smith, Janet Murphy, Helen Fehr, Sonya Schlee and Norvella Judd. Guests to Hear Parks Expert
Special guests interested in rece reation have been invited to hear a lecture by Victor K. Brown, Chie cago Park Department recreational director, at the Indianapolis League of Women Voters meeting tomorrow at the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Among those invited are Mayor | Reginald Sullivan, members of the Park and School Boards and rece reational workers in the WPA and Council of Social Agencies. Mr. Brown will speak at 1 p. m, following a luncheon and morning business session. In the morning he will confer with the Mayor's Committee on Recreation and fole lowing his League talk will talk with other recreation leaders. Mr. Brown supervises expendie ture of Chicago's $1,750,000 budget, of which close to $800,000 is spent on leadership and supervision. Mr. Brown has spent over 30 years with the Chicago Park District, - ‘For two years he was recreation superintendent at Newark, N. J. He acted as morale officer in the Muscle Shoals nitrate plant during the war and was with the South Park Commissioners in Chicago until 1934 when he took over the Chicago Park District, a consolida« tion of all recreation services in the city. He is on the editorial board of several publications and has written for magazines interested in recreation. He is president of the Sperican Institute of Park Execue ves.
St. Philip Neri Card Party Aids Chosen
Mrs. D. J. Foley has announced committees for a card party to be sponsored by the St. Phillip Neri unit of the National Council of Catholic Women at 2 p. m. next Tuesday in Ayres’ auditorium. Mrs, Foley is general chairman. Mesdames Lawrence Zinkin, Ede win Pfau and S. J. Rudolph will have charge of table prizes. Mesdames Leo R. Shay, H. C.
