Model Airplanes—

NEW GASOLINE GADGET BOOSTS R. P.M. BY 1500

Carburetor Is Devised by Members of State Association.

Indiana Gas Model Association members have developed a new carburetor that they think is unique in gas model work. The carburetor regulates the flow of air instead of gasoline and results in a tremendous increase in the revolutions per minute.

It does away with the needle valve. William Keough. association member, estimates that the rpm. is increased from about 4000 to 5000. The contrivance consists of one tube interlocking with another tube. Both are slotted and the mixture is varied by the introduction of air. The new carburetor was developed by Harold Stofer. Everett Parker (developer of the new twin-prop model) and Mr, Stofer have installed the carburetors on their own motors and Mr. Patrick has built one for Mr. Keough. » » -

Sunday was too windy for any flights. Mr. Patrick had his twinprop model on the field but he did not send it up. The boys who did try any work with their models soon came to grief. There were a couple of crashes as a result of too much | daring. ” » ” A number of the association members are planning to fly in the meet sponsored Sunday by the Purdue
