RECIPE TO REMOVE

GREASE FROM PAPER

|

There are several methods of removing grease spots from wall paper that is not washable or waterproof One method involves the use of benzine or carbon tetrachloride or a spot cleaner sold by most stores, The

solvent should be applied to the spot!shown by appointment,

quickly, and a blotter held over it immediately afterward. The principle is that the solvent and grease mix, become mobile and are drawn into the blotter,

Logansport Couple to Build Enlarged House Near | Country Club.

Sherrill E. Arvin, builder of the 19th annual Indianapolis Home Show's “Honeymoon Home." today announced he would reproduce the dwelling for a Logansport couple. Another reproduction of the cine der concrete masonry home is being built in Northdale Addition for My. ! and Mis. Kenneth Kinnear of the Marott Hotel. They purchased the home during the Home Show, which ended Sunday, The Logansport home will be built for Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Bryant near the Logansport Country Club. It will be an exact reproduction of the Home Show house “The outstanding basic construe-| tion features of both homes will! include cinder concrete masonry walls and reinforced concrete floors with hardwood floor finish, a&assuring permanence and low upkeep as well as the important factor of fire, protection,” Mr. Arvin said. The floor plan of the Kinnear home was enlarged by Mr. Arvin and Leslie F. Ayres, Indianapolis architect who designed the dwelling, to include additional space in the two bedrooms and a two-car garage, “Both couples became interested in constructing ‘Honeymoon Home| while visiting the Home Show,” Mu. Arvin said. “Negotiations are proceeding with

|

four other home planners for con-|

struction of this fire-safe home.”

Interest in g Guards Value

Federal Works Agency weekly, Mr Artis says: “Pulling together of masses of families presents definite physical and phychological problems. That landless people generally do not have the feeling of ‘belonging’ is widely recognized. “One of the tasks ahead in public housing management is how to con-

stead and at the same time secure the efficiency and convenience of congregate living. “Tenant maintenance—the utmost participation of tenants them-

selves in the care of the property |

entrusted to them—is a potent

means of discovering. releasing and |

enhancing these values.” Plan and design, he writes, are important elements in tenant maintenance, “Design can contribute immensely to tenant maintenance by providing for twin houses, or group (dwellings with individual yard space where complete maintenance

can be turned over to tenants,” Mr.

' Artis explains. “Tenant maintenance is based on the theory that if housing in to be provided for lower-income groups. jmost of such families will not have sufficient incomes to pay for jani-

torial services, It seems sound prac- |
