$255,000 Hospital Bonds ~ Under Advisement After . Inspection.

City Council today had a $255,000}

bond ‘issue for extensive City Hospital - hnprovements under advisement and a number of pairs of tired feet, after an exhaustive inspection of the institution yesterday.

The Councilmen who must ap-||

prove ‘the expenditure if the improvement is to go forward tramped about the hospital for more than an. hour with hospital attaches before ‘finally relaxing with sighs of relief in the institution's private dining hall. In addition to other information, the Councilmen learned that the hospital is singularly devoid of places to sit down except for patients, attaches and expectant fathers. They were taken aback when they learned that. after their hour’s hike, they had seen only a third of the $8,000,000 institution.

Remodeling Outlined

With Dr. Charles W. Myers, superintendent, and Albert - Walsman, business manager, as guides, the Councilmen saw how officials plan \ to.remodel the major surgical building and tie in its eight surgeries with two new ones in the. PWA-built F Wing. The surgeries now on the first floor will be moved to the third flocr which now is taken up by an unused auditorium. The first floor then will be turned over to the outpatient department. Five new elevators will be added to. relieve the load of the present elevators. Some of the elevators now in' service were installed 27 years ago and cannot carry safely more than five persons or two patient carts with two attendants, Dr. Myers explained. :

Her husband, James McDill Faris, died Feb. 20, ten days aiter making a will leaving his whole estate, valued at “more than $3000,” to her. Most of the estate, however, was a trust fund in the CitiZens Loan $ Trust Co., Biaomington, set up by Mrs. Clara Orchard Faris, Mr. Faris’ mother, at the time of her death in May, 1935. Her will made her son her sole heir, but provia.. that it he died within five years th2 estate should go to nieces and nephews. ICC FILES AGAINST HOOSIER TRUCKER

A suit charging a Bloomington trucker and stone firm with hauling stone across state lines without an Interstate Commerce Commission permit was on file in Federal Court here today.
