Funeral services for John PF. Rainier, former Methodist pastor, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow
in the Flanner & Buchanan FuBoral Home. Burial will be in Crown
Mr. Rainier, who was 67, died Saturday night in his home, 2716 Sutherland Ave. Active pallbearers will be Eugene Whitehill, Silas Reagan, Thomas Madden, Harrison Eiteljorg, Samuel . Runnels Harrell, Ralph Nessler and Charles Schneck and Don A. Bollinger, both of Seymour, and Dr. Elmer Sevringhaus. Madison, Wis. Honorary pallbearers will include Frank A. Symmes, James A. Collins, Harry O. Chamberlain, Emsley W. Johnson Sr. Fred Bates Johnson, James M. Ogden, Dr. A. F. Weyerbacher, Dr. Roy Lee Smith, Clarence E. Weir, Frank Braden, James A. Sutherlin, Merlin M. Dunbar, Martin J. Hyland, Frank Hirschmann, C. E. Whitehill, Dr. John Cunningham, Otto Ray, Capt. John Gould and Dr. Elmer Sevringhaus, Madison, Wis. Mr. Rainier was pastor of various Methodist Churches here for a 20- ~ year period and previously held pastorates in other Indiana communities. In 1913 he was active in flood relief. He was in private business during the last 10 years. He was a member of the Meridian Street Methodist Church and was & former member of the Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias and the Loyal Order of Moose. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Paul, Seymour, and Louis O., Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Karl T Nessler, Seymour; two sisters, Mrs, Harold Lee Barnes, Chicago, and Mrs. Merle D. Gwin, Rensselaer, Ind., and two grandchildren.
William R. Rutledge
William R. Rutledge, retired employee of Kingan & Co., died totoday in Methodist Hospital at the age of 79. He had been ill for three weeks.
Mr. Rutledge was born: in Scot-|
land and came to this country as a young man. He worked as a janitor for Kingan & Co. for 47 years, until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the Second Presvbyterian Church, Indianapolis Lodge 669, F. and A. M.; West Side Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, and the Kingan's Old-Timers Club. Survivors are his wife, Mary; a daughter, Mrs. Ida Parker, Indianapolis; a son, Robert Rutledge, New York City; a brother, John Rutledge, New Castle; -five grand- ‘ children and 11 great-grandchil-dren. Funeral - services will be held at 10 a, m. Wednesday at the Conkle Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery.
Miss Nelly Neely Funeral services were held in SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral at 9 a. m. today for Miss Nelly Neely, a W. Michigan St. fressmaker for many wears. Miss Neely, -who died Friday, lived at 2235 Carrollton Ave. She was 69 and had lived here since she came to America” at the age of 4 with her parents, John and Mary Norwood Neely. She was born in Belfast, Ireland. She had been ill for a year. Before that she had been a West Side dressmaker. She was a member of the Catholic Cathedral parish. The funeral services at the cathedral followed a service at 8:30 a. m. in the Speaks & Finn Funeral Home. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Survivors are a brother; Robert J. Neely; two sisters, Miss Kathryn Neely and Mrs. Teresa Almond, all of Indianapolis, and two nieces, Miss. Teresa Almond of Indianapolis and Mrs. Dorothy Roberts of New Orleans.

~ Funeral services for William R. Blackburn, 609 Congress Ave. an Indianapolis insurance man, were held at 10 a. m. today at the McNeely Funeral Home, and burial was in Washington Park Cemetery. Mr. Blackburn was 73. e died Wednesday in Methodist. “Hospital - after an illness of four years. He was the senior member of the insurance firm of W. R. Blackburn & Sons, with offices at'1115 Roosevelt Building. Mr. Blackburn was a member of the Masonic order and Scottish Rite. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Odessa Blackburn; two daughters, Mrs. Smith Martin, Washington County, and Mrs. Carl Vandivier; two sons, Max A. Blackburn and Paul C. Blackburn, all of Indianapolis; wa brother, Byron Blackburn, New York; a sister, Mrs. Annette B. Ehler, Hennessey, Okla. and seven ‘grandchildren, Walter Martin, William Blackburn, - Barbara Blackburn, Jack Schneider, Elizabeth Schneider. John Vandivier and Mary Jane Vandivier.

Otto Palmer Stalcup, Plainfield, Ind., superintendent for the Indiana State Highway Coemmission _ died today at Methodist Hospital. He was 53. "A former resident of Indianapolis, Mr: Stalcup was a member of the Methodist Church at Bloomfield. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louisa B. Stalcup; a daughter, Virginia Marie Lewis; a sister, Mrs. C. H. Cantwell, Columbus, O., and a brother, Claude H. Stalcup, Portland, Ore. Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Shirley Brothers Central Chapel, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

Fred C. Freund
Funeral services for ‘Fred C. Freund, who died yesterday at the Methodist Hospital after a twomonth illness, will be held at 1:30 p m. Wednesday at the G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Freund, who was 172, and lived at the home of his son, Fred A. Freund, 1440 S. New Jersey St., was employed by the Dean Bros. Pump Co. here for 53 years. Born in Germany, Mr. Freund came to the United States and lived in Bloomsburg, Pa., before coming to Indianapolis in 1886. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Sahara Grotto, the Oriental Masonic Lodge and the Germania Lodge I. O. O. P. He was a musicign in the Sahara Grotto band for many years. Survivors are two sons, Fred A, of Indianapolis, and Herbert Ww. of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Robert Ellis, of Indianapolis, and four grandchildren.

dent of Indianapolis for 88 years, died today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. R. Smith, 4902 Broadway St., after a short illness. She was born Jan. 15, 1852, on E. Washington St. She was the widow of William Kiemeyer, former cigar manufacturer who died 13 yearsgago. Mrs. Kiemeyer was a life member of the Indianapolis Maenner=chor Ladies’ Auxiliary. Her husband wads one of the founders of the organization and a charter member. She also was a member of the Altenheim of Indianapolis. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Caroline K. Shaw and Mrs. Smith; a son, John :P. Kiemeyer, and a grandson, Arthur William Kiemeyer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Charles F. Lanham, 401 Caven St., machinist for the American Can Co. for the last 20 years, died today in Methodist Hospital. He was 54. Edward C. Stephenson, a World War veteran, died last night at his home, 1917 Park Ave. -He was 41. Mr. Stephenson, a machine-gun-

shrapnel and gassed in.the Argonne offensive. He had been in ill health for the last 10 years. He was in the U. S. Veterans’ Hospital 11 months, being returned to his home recently. Born in Georgetown, Ill, Mr. Stephenson had lived here most of his life. He is mother, Mrs. Mary Belle Stephenson, and two brothers, James E. Stephenson, Indianapolis, and Frank H. Stephenson, stationed at the U.. S. Marine Corps Barracks, Vuantico, Va. Services will be at 2p. m. Wednesday at the Kirby Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill.

Guy Hanks, an auditor, died today in Methodist Hospital of injuries received when he fell at his home, 1702 Ruckle St., April 13. He was 66 and had lived in Indianapolis for more than 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belle Hanks; three daughters, Mrs. Louis Richman, Goshen; Mrs. Geraldine Oldham, Dayton# O. and Mrs. Helen Grover, Aurora, Ill; three step- daughters, Mrs. bh. .Charles W. Morbach, retired South Side merchant, died last night at his home, 1727 Prospect St. Mr. Morbach, who was 89, had been a tesident of Indianapolis for 71 years. He was born in Napoleon, Ind, and came here at the age of 18. He worked as a bookkeeper for the Old New York Store for more than: 25 years and then established the C. W. Morbach Drygoods Store at 1703 Prospect St. He operated that for 40 years, eliring three years agp. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and secretary and treasurer of the local chapter of the Catholic Knights | of America, an insurance organization, for the past 50 years. His wife died 14 years ago. He is survived by a sister, Miss Carrie Morbach of Osgood, Ind; five nietes and two nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a. m.
