whether a $255,000 remodeling program as proposed by Superintendent ; : 2 i S Bo : htles W. Myers should be carried IN 0 : 3 ) ie ee 2 ou “ 3 ee A IR : : * Dr. Myers said that the program is necessary because the out-patient clients of the hospital have nearly doubled in the last 10 years and more room is needed for clinics. When the out-patient building was constructed 11 years ago at a cost of $637,750, it was with the intention of leaving the third floor untenanted as a provision for future growth. However, this soon was made a ward and now contains about 75 . bed patients. : - Strain Would Be Relieved While the proposed remodeling program is essentially designed to relieve the strain on out-patient facilities, it also would correct conditions in surgery, the obstetrics, the nose and throat ward and the water supply and elevator service. : It is proposed to remodel the a : : ; £7 : ; surgery building, which was built Lg ; ’ - 21 years ago at a cost of $432,000, : | a oo ; : so that the surgery rogms would be [NS ’ : . . moved from the first to the third i in B “ SENSATIONAL :

There also would be a ° t 1s money saving offer! > transfusion room. ; Additional Clinics Planned The second floor, which is the obstetrics ward, would remain the obstetrics ward, and would be re--modeled for that purpose. ‘As it is, “ the floor was built the same as the first floor and was intended for five additional surgeries, which were never needed for that purpose. The first floor would be turned into clinics for out-patients and would be large enough to account for any predictable increase in this department, Dr. Myers said. Dr. Myers said that the alternative to this remodeling would be to build a wing .to care for the ward patients now occupying the ird floor of ther out-patient * building. Water Treatment Proposed The water treatment plant, proposed at a cost of $60,000 would, in the long run, Dr. Myers said, preserve the plumbing of the institu-
