DeWitt S. Morgan, Indianapolis Schools superintendent, will speak on “Indianapolis Youth” before the League of Women Voters’ meeting at 10:15 a. m.. Wednesday at the American United Life Insurance Co. auditorium. Discussion of the problem of unemployed youth will feature the program. Mr. Morgan will be presented by Mrs. James Bawden,

ernment and education, which is sponsoring the meeting as a climax to its year’s study of unem-

ployed and out-of-school youth. The department’s study revealed that there are about 2000 youths in Indianapolis between the ages of 16 and 18 who have not finished high school, are not attending school and are unemploged. The study report states this condition exists despite the fact that young people may attend school without paying tuition until they are 21, Sliugn the compulsory school age 16. : Figures of the National Youth Commission show that over the country probably one-third of all unemployed are between the ages of 18 and 25. The department has studied methods of schools in other cities to meet the problem of young people locally. The study was continued with observation of local. opoprtunities for vocational guidance, including the part-time school and part-time employment, experiment being con-
