Smith said today. z Mrs. Smith, who is supervisor of ‘pursing in the Public Welfare De‘partment, will. be one of the two ecters of the State psychiatric nursing eonference here tomorrow. - At that eonference in the State Health Beard Building nurses will diseyss the possibility) of a threemonth training peri nursing for all student nurses. “The National League of Nursing yecommends| that all nurses have training in psychiatrie nursing,” Mrs. Smith said. “Mental symptoms in some forms are likely to apFear in almost any physical disorder and are frequently overlooked and misinterpreted by nurses whese training has not included this im-. portant study. “The recent building program at the various| State hospitals, providing mode laboratory equipment along with| the establishment of wards for acute and chronic cases in the hespitals and the organization of a nursing| department, now make it possible for all schools of nursing to send [students to state institutions fer this training.”

By Science Service CLEVELAND, April 4—Sulfathiazole, new chemical remedy of the sultanilamide group, is the “drug of choice” for treatment of pneumonia, Drs. Harrison F. Flippin and Leon "Schwartg, University of . Pennsyivania School of Medicine, reported after trial of sulfathiazole and sulfapyridine in treatment of 100 patients with each remedy.
