85 - Year - Old Shelbyville Resident Carried to Safety Unaware of Blaze.

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. April 4 (U. P.).—Mrs. Mary F. Drager, 85, of] near Shelbyville, died last night a! few hours after she was carried | from her burning farm home. She! had been unconscious since Sunday | - and knew nothing of the blaze. Two daughters who lived with her and four children of. one of the daughters were left homeless.

Abandoned Plant

Burns at Lafayette LAFAYETTE, Ind, April 4 (U. P.).—The abandoned plant of the Dryfus Packing Co. was destroyed by fire last night with damage estimated at approximately $5000. 4%. The blaze was discovered shortly after 6 p. m. and attracted thou‘sands of spectators. All machinery had been removed. from the build/ing, but part of one section was in use by a Kokomo bakery as a distributing point.

Smoker Burned to Death in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. April 4 (U. P)—Benjamin Berry, 38, was burned fatally yesterday when his clothing was ignited by a cigaret which slipped from his hand as he dozed.
