Times Special BARTOW, Fla., March 22.—Manager Wes Griffin split his large squad of Indianapolis Redskins today and staged the first intrasquad game of the training season. What he called his regular infield was to see action on one side and his pick of flychasers on the other. He aimed to even the strength ‘of the teams and let ‘em go to it over the regulation route. The Tribe squad is well stocked with pitchers, 13, and catchers, five, and the main task will be. to get| them all into service.. However, Dee Moore, one of ‘the catchers, has volunteered to play third base on one of the teams. He's had experience there, as well as on the mound and in the outfield. One infield will line up with Newman at first, Vaughn at second, Hill at third, and Richardson at shortstop. The other, Latshaw at first,

DETROIT, March 22 (U. Faetz leads his Chicago recreation team into action among regulars in the first major attack by top-rank-ing teams in the tournament. Arrival of the Scronger quintets started the annual maneuvering for the 1941 and'1942 A: B. C. tourneys. St. Pauli, Minn., apparently has next year’s classic without opposition but the 1942 site, also to be selected at the meeting next oe day, is expected to be a battle between Columbus and Indianapolis. Buffalo may enter bidding if a suitable location can be found there. First among several former baseball stars to bowl is Bob O'Farrell, Waukegan. Elizabeth, N.
