SCHOOL PATROL BOY CAMP TO BE MAPPED
The Indianapolis ‘Safety Education Council, in its meeting tomorrow at.3:30 p. m,, is expected to lay
plans for the 1940 training camp for
school safety patrol officers:. The meeting will be held in the World War Memorial shrine. |. The safety chairman of Indianapolis Parent-Teacher Associations, which finance the camp, voted Monday to continue their support of the project. It is expected that the eouncil will vote its approval after hearing the financial report on last year’s camp, given by W. A. Evans, schools safety director. Committees scheduled to report are one on courses of study and reading maferials and anether on revision - of the Council Constitution. ,

WEST ORANGE, N. J, March 20 (U. P.).—Secretary of Navy Charles Edison announced today’ he would seek ‘nomination as thé Demogratic candidate for Governor of New Jersey. In g statement issued at his home here, Secretayy Edison said that “after weeks of serious consideration and with a full appreciation of the serjousness and responsibility of the step I am taking, I have decided to permit my name to go en the petitions [for nomination as Govérnor of New Jersey on the Democratic ticket.” Although he is leaving Washington next Tuesday: for am inspection tour of| Pacific Coast naval defenses, Mr. Edison said ‘he felt that “in fairness to‘all my friends and supporters I realize the necessity of reaching a decision before leaving.”
