Construction Will Be Started Soon.

LO y,| The number of exhibitors for the} 19th annual

Indianapolis Home Show today neared the 100 mark. J. Frank Cantwell, Home Show director, said 79 exhibitors already

open April 12 in the Manufacturers’

and will close the night of April 21. “It is an absolute certainty that the show will be bigger and better this year and indications are for an attendance of, more than 100,000 persons,” Mr, Cantwell said. “New exhibitors are coming in daily and those from previous years have taken increased display space.” This year the Show will have three houses instead .of one to form the center-piece of the, show. They are the “Honeymoon Home,” the “Holiday House” and the “Town House.”

complete the latter in two weeks. Construction on the seven-room

home, designed by Architect Fred- Co.

STOCKS LOWER AS U.S. STEEL DIPS 2 POINTS

Britishers Needing War Loan Funds.

NEW YORK, March 15 AU. P.). —United States Steel broke nearly 2 points to a new low for the year to lead the stock” market down today. Heavy vy selling came just before noon with pivotal issues hardest hit. Some liquidation came from London from holders who desired to raise funds to pay for the latest British war loan, experts said. The fact that stocks hardest hity were among tltose heavily held in Britain lent ‘credence to that theory. In addition to liquidation from abroad, many traders anticipated a general peace move before Easter. Suddeness of the decline caught stop loss orders and hastened the recession. New lows for the year were made by numerous railroad shares, in-

{clduing New York Central, South-

ern Pacific,” Nickel Plate issues, Baltimore & Ohio and Delaware & Hudson. Airplane company shares broke as much as 2 points in Glenn Martin. Du Pont was down more than 2, Bethlehem Steel 2 points and Chrysler 23. +

TRAVEL BOOM

Fairs, Parks to Lure Greater Number of Hoosiers, Smock Believes.

The travel season just getting under way will be the biggest in history, ‘in the opinion of E. G. Smock, head of the Greyhound Bus Lines Travel Bureau here. Mr. Smock believes several factors are responsible for the increasing ‘summer traveling of Hoosiers to othey parts of the nation. “The two fairs last year, at New York and at San Francisco, started

| many persons traveling,” Mr. Smock

said. . “Many who went last year

o| Will revisit them this year and

many others are choosing new sights to see.” . “Then, too, the war abroad has caused many travelers to plan on tours in the U. S. and many who formerly did not have vacations now have a week or two. “Of course the national parks are

: the top drawing card this country

has to offer .to travelers. The Smoky Mountains are the most popular trip for. Indianapoiis persons for a week-end and Niagara Falls is a close second.” L. H. Schmidt, city passenger agent for Greyhound, said the ¢om-

summer travel which il be air-

educational trips to state parks and industrial centers. JBut the big increase in travel in coming from’ those persons who want to visit new sections of the
