lipstick outward to the corners in a rather heavy line instead of tapering it upward-and letting it disappear completely, leaving corners of the month uncolored. --To make a too-large mouth seem smaller the exact opposite technique is used. ~ According to Jean Tennyson, attractive opera star, and to the majority. of the glamor girls of the screen, the best way to get: lipstick on is with a little brush. Practically every actress in Hollywood carries a lipstick brush as well as lipstick, comb and compact. Except in cases where the mouth -must be. made to look very full in order to har--monize with other features, the natural outline is the one to follow when applying lipstick. =: Finally, whatever the shape and size of your mouth may be, <semember that turned down. corners detract from your appearance. -Don’t let the corners of your mouth droop and sag. ~ SHAPED PANELS ON DAINTY NEW STYLE
WHETHER YOU'RE the dainty , bows-and-furbelows type or a “tai-lored-to-a-T” girl, here’s a frock to entice you! Depending gn your fabric and trim, Claire Tilden’s Pattern 101 will make either a dress-up style or a work-a-day dress. Just see how cleverly the shaped front bodice panel meets the shaped panel of the skirt, forming an ex= aggerated hoursglass outline that’s most flattpring. Gathering at either sid# of the hodice is soft and smart. The daintier style, shown in the large sketch, has a simple, . beautifully shaped neckline and uses rufng the bodice panel seams and at the sleeves. * Wouldn’t it. be enchanting flower-splashed silk or a lov sheer? The more business-like Hed sion: displays either a matching or contrasting collar, perhaps trimmed with a vivid bow, and would look smart in cotton or spun rayon.
