Car! Niesse Frowns on Drive-In Theaters as 'Petting Rendezvous
CARL NIESSE, GENERAL MANAGER of the Olson Theaters here, today attacked outdoor, drive-in theaters for Indianapolis Mr. Niesse charged principally that such theaters were “a rendezvous for petting and illegal drinking.” In addition, he said that it would be almost impossible to project a good light during the summer months because of insects that pester
Indianapolis and vicinity. Other - objections Mr. Niesse listed were that rain which would cause occupants ‘of the cars to close the windows and thus be unable to hear, and noises caused by cars pulling In and out.

{Mascagn Opera "To Be Honored
Fabien Sevitzky, who celebrated the 100th anniversary of Tschaikowsky’s birth at last week-end’s Indianapolis Symphony concerts,
This has to do with. Mascagni's “Cavalleria Rusticana,” which had its first performance a half-century ago. By way of doing honor to this popular one-act opera in its 50th year, Mr. Sevitzky will give what is thought to be the work’s first Indiana production in concert form. In addition to the semi-centen-nial aspects, the conductor has announced two additional reasons which prompted Sunday's performance. For one thing, he thinks that “Cavalleria” is still good music and good entertainment. And secondly, Mr. Sevitzky says he wants to give his Sunday afternoon audiences a chance to hear the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. The full 200-voice choir will be on stage, along with the symphony _|orchestra and four soloists. In addition, the Busigis Concert Choir will be heard in the choral
