Traffic Club Has Birthday
The Indianapolis Women’s Traffic Club was to hold its first annual anniversary dinner tonight in the Gold Room of: the Washington Hotel. Employers of the members have been invited to attend. Following dinner, talks will be made by E. L. Gurney, president of the Indianapolis Men's Traffic Club; Faye Langdon, Indianapolis Motor Transportation Club president; F. A. Doebber, executive vice president of the Associated Traffic Clubs of America; H. A. Hollopeter, director of fraffic for the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, and Dave Probstein. Miss Ernestine Simons, president, will be toastmaster. Other officers who will speak are Mrs. Edith Hoover, vice president; Miss Susie Nicely, treasurer, and Mrs. Caroline McGowan, secretary. A special edition of the club’s publication, “The Blotter,” will be distributed by the editors, Miss Cassilda Williams and Miss Roarta Schull. Homemakers Of County Map Plan for Year
Club Leaders Meet, Arrange to Aid Expert In Program.
Safety in the home, kitchen plane ning, proper sleeping and efficient laundering are to be discussed by Marion County Homemakers’ Clubs at a forthcoming meeting. Presidents of the 28 clubs met yesterday in the office of Miss Janice Berlin, county home demonstration agent, to plan the work for the rest of this year. : It was decided that two representatives of each club would attend a series of meetings to be conducted by Miss Inez E. Kent, Purdue University home specialist. These two will take back to the individual clubs the information Miss Kent gives them. Kitchen Clinic Set
On March 29 Miss Kent's subject will be “Scoring Your Home: for Safety.” On April 26 she will cone duct a kitchen clinic and talk brief ly on “A Place for Everything.” On June 17, her subject will be “Routing in the Kitchen.” First subject after the summer vacation will be “Sleep—Mattresses and Springs” on Sept. 13. On Oct, 31, Miss Kent will discuss “Launder= ing.” On March 11, other representatives of each club will meet with the Homemakers’ Chorus in the wilking Music Co. auditorium for instruction in music directing, with emphasis on the Purdue “song of the month.” : Mrs. Anthony Ackerman, county president, appointed five committees at yesterday's meeting. Aids Are Announced The achievement committee is composed of Mesdames O. D, Forsythe, Canada Hightshue, Juliana McCord, Glenn Brewer, Emory Eaton and George Smart. N aturalist to Lecture
On P.-T. A. Program
Karl H. Maslowski will give a nature lecture at 7:30 p. m. Friday 'at the Christian Park School 82, 4700 English Ave. under auspices of the school P.-T. A. Mr. Maslowski_ will present “A Naturalist’s Diary—in Color Film.” The lecturer has been affiliated with the Cincinnati Society of Natural History Museum. He is president and extension lecturer of the Ohio Audubon Society and has been cone nected with various nature magazines and the Ohio Division of Con= servation. The public is invited. There will be an admission charge.
Hostesses Named
Hostesses have been named for Parent-Teacher Association Day tomorrow at the Hoosier Art Salon Exhibit which the Woman’s Department Club is sponsoring in Block's auditorium through March 8. They will be Mesdames Frank Rieman, Walter A. Schulz, Ray Roberson, Frank W. Strohm, Walter Thomas and Claude M. Wise.
