LOCAL DEATHS

Mrs. Mary Griffin Mrs. Mary Griffin, an Indianapolis resident 80 years, died yesterday at her home, 1512 Sturm Ave. She had been ill since Dec. 27 and was 82. She was born at Piqua, O., and came here with her parents when she was two years old. Married here to Patrick J. Griffin, who died in 1909, she was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church parish. Survivors are three daughters, Miss Anna, Mrs. Mary Land and Mrs. Kathleen Mabee, all of Indianapolis; a son, Dennis J. Griffin, with whom she lived; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Reed of Indianapolis and Sister Alice of St. Mary-of-the-Woods; a granddaughter, Miss Mary Jane Land, and a grandson, Lawrence Mabee, both of Indianapolis. Services will be held at 8:30 a. m.

Thursday at the home and at 9 a. m.

at the church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Mintie L. Hamilton

Services for Mrs. Mintie L. Hamilton, native of Royaltcn, Mich., and an Indianapolis resident several years, will be at 2 p. m. tomorrow at the Montgomery Mortuary. Burial will be at Crown Hill, Mrs. Hamilton died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. T. Milton Rybolt, 5602 N. Pennsylvania St., following a three months’ illness. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Rybolt and Mrs. Mae L. Seward of Vineland, N. J.; three sons, Earle A. and Merlin C, Hamilton of Pittsburgh, Pa., and E. Joseph T. McShane

. Joseph T. McShane, 533 Marion Ave. foreman at the Chevrolet body plant here and brother of the Rev. Fr. John McShane, St. Bridget's Catholic Church pastor, died Sunday at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was 53 and had been a patient at the hospital two days. Born at Columbus, Mr. McShane] was in the grocery business and later in the automobile business there about 10 years. He came here 18 years ago and was employed by the old Martin-Parry Body Co. before it became a General Motors Division. He was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church parish. Survivors are his* wife, Harriett; 8 daughter, Miss Helen: a sister, Mrs. Mary Morgan of Detroit, Mich. and Father McShane. Services will be held at 8:30 a. m. Thursday at the Speaks & Finn Mortuary and at 9 a. m. at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus.

Bernard C. Rees

Funeral services for Bernard C. Rees, retired farmer and father of Dr. Russell C. Rees, Indianapolis, will be at 10 a. m. tomorrow in Knightstown. Burial will be in Greenfield. Mr. Rees, who was 66, died Sunday in the home of a sister, Mrs. Lanta Banker, Greenfield. He lived one and a half miles west of Knightstown. Mr. Rees was born July 10, 1873, ifn Fayette County. He lived in Rush County as a young man, lived

in Elwood for 13 years and in Eden}

eight years before going to Knightstown. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Eden and the Knights Templar in Greenfield. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Vera Henderson, Mrs. Mary Leishman, San Francisco, Cal.,, and Mrs. Delores Key, Anderson; three other sons, Courtland Rees, Gary; Joseph Rees, a student at Indiana University, and Robert Rees, San Francisco; and three sisters, Mrs. Banker and Mrs. John Souder, both of Greenfield; and Mrs. Hazel Sullivan, Ft. Worth, Tex.

Mrs. Sarah Jane Cotton

Mrs. Sarah Jane Cotton, mother of Roland M. Cotton, president and secretary-treasurer of the Indianapolis plumbing firm bearing. his name, died yesterday after a three years’ illness. She was 81. Mrs. Cotton was born in Warren Township and had been a Marion County resident all her life. She was the widow of M. M. Cotton, who died in 1922. Survivors are two sons, Roland Cotton and Raymond C. Cotton of St. Petersburg, Fla., and two daughters, Mrs. Grace Hinchman and Mrs. Ruth Greuling, both of Indianapolis.
