With Easter only a month away, Old Br'er Rabbit is going to have to scurry about to get some of his plans made for egg hunts and parties despite bad weather. Easter comes March 24. : : Local country clubs, where most of the egg hunts and
contests are held each year for the kiddies, haven’t done
much planning as yet—it just isn’t Easter weather. At the Indianapolis Country Club, the usual egg races, rolling contests and hunt will be held Easter Sunday afternoon for members’ children. Both children and grownups will be served a buffet supper. The Meridian Hills Country Club always gives its egg hunt for the children the Saturday afternoon preceding Easter. Sunday. The children are divided into two age groups with prizes for each group. - On Easter Day, a special dinner is served in the clubhouse. Plans at Highland Golf and Country Club are tentative for a “hunt” and Easter dance. . Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fieber, newly appointed entertainment chairmen at Woodstock Club, will be in charge of Easter activities there. Mrs. L. L. Sheppard is chairman of the March entertainment committee lat Hillcrest Country Club and will supervise an egg hunt for children of club members Easter afternoon. |
Anna Hasselman Will Speak at Art Tea
Miss Anna Hasselman, curator of the John Herron Art Museum, will be the speaker for a weekly tea-talk for members of the Art Association of Indianapolis and their guests at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Museum. : Her subject will be “Fine Glass Making Through the Ages.” She will exhibit examples from the Herron’s permanent collection to illustrate her talk. Symphony Society Luncheon Is Friday
Members of three of the state units of the women’s committee of the Indiana State Symphony Society will be honored this week when the committee holds its eighth pre-concert luncheon and explanatory music talk Friday noon in the Athenaeum. Units to receive special recognition for their efforts on behalf of the orchestra are those of Terre Haute, with Mrs. Howard Patton chairman; Muncie, Mrs. Victor C. Hutzel, chairman, and Crawfordsville, Mrs. R. H. Tinsley, chairman. Joni The music talk, explanatory of the concerts to ke played by the: Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, directed by Fabien Sevitzky, that, afternoon and Saturday night, will be given by Prof. Claude H. Thespis Club Play Changed
Committees have been chosen for the next production of the Thespis Club, Butler dramatic group, and another candidate has entered the race for “Sophomore Sweetheart” to reign over the sophomore Cotillion March 1 in the Murat Temple. The next production of THESPIS. Butler University Drama group, has been changed tentatively from “Bury the Dead” to “A Night at Brandel’s.” Max Wildman is club president. The play will be presented March 26, 27 and 28. Ralph Martz heads the production committee, Paul Umberger will serve as technical director, with Harlan Pfaff, business director.
