THREE FACE CHARGES IN GIRL'S MARRIAGE
VINCENNES, Ind, Feb. 3 (U. P.). —Affidavits were on file today Against James Harrell, 21, of Bickhell, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hamke in Connection with the alleged marriage of Mrs. Hamke’s 13-year-old daughter, Dorothy Jean Foster of Bicknell, to Harrell last week. The warrants were sworn to by County Clerk Paul Enmeier after the girl's father, Homer Foster of Pike County, complained that the girl had married under false pretense, Affidavits charged the trio With issuing false statements to get a marriage license. Foster told Mr. Enmeier and Prosecutor Oskar Oexman that Mrs. Hamke, from whom he was divorced 10 years ago, and Harrell came to his farm a week ago Sunday and said they wanted to take the girl for a ride. He consented, he said, but they’ went to Vincennes, where the couple obtalnea a license and

PSYCHOLOGIST RAPS MEANINGLESS TESTS
Times Special : BUFFALO, N. Y., Feb. 3—There are too many types of psychological tests without validity, Dr. C. M. Louttit, director of the Indiana University Psychological Clinic, told the Buffalo Society for Mental Hygiene here last night. : “So many tests are inadequately standardized, have poor reliability and have practically nothing in the way of meaningful validity,” he said. Citing that criticism is in the number of tests being given, he said that the country could probably get along with a couple of hundred, 500 at the most, instead of the more than 4000 which now are available. “We now have testing instruments for intelligence, both the so-called general variety and certain special kinds as social and mechanical, measured by verbal and non-verbal performance,” Dr. Louttit said. “The majority of new tests so

Thomas Dillon, 744 S. Capitol Ave, fined $350 and costs in Municipal Court yesterday on gambling charges, will appeal his conviction to Criminal Court, his attorney said today. Superior Court Judge Russell J. Ryan, sitting as a special judge, assessed the penalty after Dillon
