Apostoli ‘Wait Bell -

They Will Restage ‘Hit the|

Deck’ Tonight at N. Y.; Fred Favored.

By JACK CUDDY United Press Stat Correspondent . NEW: YORK, Feb. 2.—By popular request, those hard-hitting exchampions—Fred Apostoli of &an Francisco and Melio Bettina of Beacon, N. Y.—will give a repeat performance of their thrilling melodrama, “Hit the Deck,” tonight at Madison Square Garden. At its initial showing on Jan. 5, this offering evoked a great hurlyburly of mingled bravos, boos and flying bottles, after Frisco Fred hit the deck thrice, southpaw Bettina once. The first performance was of 12 acts, but tonight's show, has been expanded to 15. This longer distance is a major reason why Apostoli is the 6-5 favorite to repeat for the decision. Apostoli, former middleweight king, is a slow starter, while Melio, former light heavy champ, starts fast, but usually fades in the later going. " Promoter Jacobs will give the Apostoli-Bettina winner a light heavy title shot in the last week of March at New York or Detroit. In that fight, the crown will be defended with the victor of the title brawl at Miami on Feb. 28 between Champion Billy Conn and Gus Lesnevich. For tonight's melee, Apostolli expected to scale 170 pounds, about five less than Bettina.

Kautskys Face 5-Tilt Schedule

Kautsky’s All-Americans are in for a tough week-end on the road, taking on Oshkosh Saturday night and Sheboygan Sunday. Oshkosh has won two of three games from the locals and Sheboygan has.exchanged wins with the All-Americans, who are led by the great scoring guard, Ernie Andres.

Fred Shaw will kindly step to the head of the class.
