Seek Notification of NoParking Dates.
The Wouis oad and Street ner Wilbur Winship were asked by the Mayor's Civic. Pride Committee to notity property owners of cleaning datss for streets. Meeting at the Works Board office yesterday, the committee decided to propose that no-parking signs and newspaper publicity be used to inform car and property owners of regular days for cleaning, so that cars would not be parked on the Streets at that time. The committee “believed that the plan would be helpful in the congested areas where it has been found impossible to clean the. streets |because parked autos.” As a possible ‘alternative plan, [the committee planned a trip to Crawfordsville, Ind. to observe there a vacuum-type street cleaner which is reported to be successful in removing dirt from under autos. Members of the group also were studying today the question of legal trapping of pigeons, after they had recommended that the city, in the interest of cleanliness, health and me humane method” f eliminating the pigeon problem the downtown. area. “The committee also will talk with Dr. Charles Myers, City Hospital superintendent, regarding areas in which rats are prevalent, and dis~ cuss methods of getting rid of them.

Fall Injures Woman, 58—Mrs. Alice Steinmeyer, 58, of 239 .N. Illinois St., Apt. 25, was taken to
the City Hospital yesterday after she fell in the streetcar tracks at Illinois and Ohio Sts. She received a possible fracture of the hip.
Contract for the resurfacing of Talbot St. from 16th to 22d St. was tentatively awarded today by the Works Board to William D. Vogel, Indianapolis contractor, on his low bid of $34,721.09. : Other. bidders were the R. M. Bowen Asphalt Construction Co., $35,790.49, and ‘the Columbia Construction Co., $36,166.74. The estimate of City Engineer M. G. Johnson was $35,425.13.
