{AMILTON GETS HOOSIER SLANT ON COMING RACE

Republican National Chairman John D. M. Hamilton returned to _ the East today after consulting Indiana party leaders here on 1940 campaign strategies. He said that if President Roosevelt becomes a third term candidate “it will be the dominating issue of the fall campaign. “It will mean a national fight against a threatened one - man control of the Government,” ‘the chairman asserted. POLICE REPORT 50 PAID TAIL-LIGHT FINE

Approximately 50 motorists paid - fines last week during the attempt 0f-the Safety Board to enforce the

-fail-light law, it was learned today. A list of the motorists has been submitted to City Controller James

___E. Deery by Police Chief Michael

Morrissey. Mr. Deery requested the list of names so that the fines can be refunded if the City Legal Department decides they were collected + illegally. Corporation counsel Edward H. Knight has been asked by the controller and the Safety Board to determine whether the attempt ~t enforcing the law was valid. While this determination is being made enforcement will be held in aberance.
