ROCHESTER, ‘Ind. Jan. 26 (U. P.) —Mrs. Charlotte Curtis wanted a divorce from George Curtis mainly because she was a little tired of moving so much, she said in a complaint filed here. : She charged that during the 39 months of the couple’s married life

she had been forced to move 21 times. : : Fourteen of those moves she said were made because her husband refused to pay rent for their home, while on the other seven. occasions she was forced to take her two children and go to her parents because her husband failed to support her.

McNary Says Republican Governor of Minnesota Is ‘Clever and Able.’

WASHINGTON, Jana26 (U. P.).— Senate Republican Leader Charles

L. McNary today advocated the se-| ! lection of Governor Harold E. Stas-| &

sen of Minnesota as keynoter of the 1940 ' Republican National Conven-

tion. ~ “I think Governor Stassen is youthful, clever and able,” Mr. McNary said. “He should be an excellent choice to deliver the keynote

address.” : Mr. McNary was the first Republican leader to indorse Mr.. Stassen for the keynote assignment, one that often has served as a springboard to high political offize. Mr. Stassen, now only 32, won national recognition in 1938 when he became the first Governor in two decades to break the control of the Farmer-Labor Party in Minnesota. Because he has not reached the constitutional age of 35, Mr. Stassen is ineligible for the Republican Presidential nomination. The fact that he cannot be a candidate himself enhances his desirability as a keynoter, in the view of several Republican leaders. The Republican National Committee meets here Feb. 16 to designate a keynoter and select the site and date of the party convention. A majority is understood to favor Chi-

cago. . a ————
