2 Twelve directors of the Family
Welfare Society of Indianapolis Were named at the annual election yesterday at the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Nine of the 12 were re-elected. They are William Book, Mrs. Robert Hendrickson, Mrs. Elliot R. Hooton, Hetbert S. King, Hiram W., MecKee, Ralph N. Phelps, Warrack
Wallace, Mrs. Larz A. Whitcomb and Harold Woodard. The new
directors are William B. Schiltges.
Dr. E. Vernon Hahn and Warren T. Ruddell. All will hold office until 1943, except Mr. Ruddell, who was named to fill the term of Austin V. Clifford which expires In 1941. Mr. Clifford resigned several months ago and moved to Chicago. Dr. ‘Samuel W. Hartwell, Buffalo, N. Y,, president of the American Association of Arthopsychiatry, addressed the meeting. Mrs. Doris Harpole Hosmer, acting general secretary, gave the annual report. - The new board will meet at 12:15 Pp. m. Friday at the Columbia Club to elect society . officers: for 1940. EDINBURGH, Jan. 25 (U. PJ). —Lieut. Bruce Lovat Seton has filed suit for divorce against his stage and film actress wife, Tamara Desni. She divorced Hariss Wilhelm, Austrian dramatist, in Paris in 1936.
CCC FIRE IS PROBED
BLUFFTON, Ind. Jan. 24 (U. P)). —Comm. J. Sabback of the CCC camp east of here today began an inquiry into the cause of a blaze which last night destroyed the recreational building of the camp for a loss :of $10,000.

Benjamin Frank Payton, 1218 W. 34th St. former engineer at City Hospital, died yesterday at the hospital. He was 60. : He was born in Putnam County and carhe to Indianapolis in 1898. He was actively engaged in politics before his illness. ; He was a member of the Broad Ripple Lodge 643, F. & A. M., the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Hoosier Lodge 261 and Broad Ripple Cnapter 115, O. E. 8S. The survivors include his . wife, Ethel; a -son, John; a daughter, Mrs. Madoline Dell; a sister, Mrs. Maud Noe, and two brothers, C. E. and C. H. Payton, all of Indianapolis, and three granddaughters, Jean Dell, Patricia Ann Payton and Betty Jane Payton. Services will be conducted at the Royster & . Askin Mortuary at 2 p. m. tomorrow with burial at Crown Hill.
Miletus B. Hite Miletus B. Hite, of Clarksburg, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Irvin Long, 516 E. 33d St. He was 83. Mr. and Mrs. Hite were visiting here when he became ill two weeks ago. He was a member of the Christian Church and had lived in Clarksburg all of his life. Survivors, besides his wife and Mrs. Long, are three daughters, Mrs. M. E. Elstun and Miss Florence Hite, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. C. A. ‘Martz, Clarksburg, and a son, J. E, of Columbus, O. Services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at Clarksburg with burial there.
James L. Pease
James L. Pease, former member of the Indianapolis Fire Department, died yesterday at his home, 3902 Graceland Ave. ; Mr. Pease, who was 84, was a native of Wabash County, Illinois, and a, member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge. He retired from the Fire Department in 1909. Survivors are a son, Harley, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Morris, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Mary H. Hoisington, New Castle, Ind. Services, to be arranged today, w be followed by burial at Crown
James M. Carson
Services were to be held today at Boggstown for James M. Carson who died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George H. Marriott, 732 N. Bolton Ave. Mr. Carson, who was 88, was a retired farmer and a native of Sugar Creek Township. He was a charter member of the Boggstown Presbyterian Church. Survivors beside the.daughter are two grandchildren, Burnside and Winifred Marriott. The services to be held at 2 p. m. at the Boggstown Community Olvyreh will be followed by burial there. :

Services for Gustave C. Schaub,

8:30 a. m. Saturday at the Grinsteiner Mortuary and at 9 a. m. at
the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was 78. A lifelong resident of this City, Mr. Schaub was ‘a pressman until 1930 when he began work with thes Carpenters’ International Union. He lived at 230 N. Oxford St. . He was a member of the St. Philip Neri Church, the St. Joseph Society of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a charter member of Pressmen’s Union 17. - Survivors are a son, Elmer, and a daughter, Mrs. Stella Hofmeister. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mrs. Harriet A. Acker died today at her home, 3116 Ruckle St., four days before she would have celebrated her 82d. birthday. Mrs. Acker had been a resident of Indianapolis since 1909, coming here with her husband, Armean Acker, upon his retirement from the undertaking and furniture business in Converse, Ind. Mr, Acker died five years ago. Mrs. Acker was born in Johnson County and moved with her parents to Converse at the age of 1. She was a member of the Converse Christian Church. Survivors ‘include two daughters, Mrs. Fay Gift and Mrs. Gretchen Soutter, both of Indianapolis;. two grandchildren, Haskell A. Gift, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Maxine Mec-
