No doubt Mr. F. J. Regan of Sellersburg wouldn't yell “boo” at the neighbor's baby, but the information he relays to Cathedral on Silver Creek’s basketball team would Se the daylights out of any but the strong hearted. Coach Ji . Harmon's Irish, however, are keeping their date with Silver Creek Saturday night. The Silver Creek team— and you may call them Creekers—have won 13 out of 14 games this season, losing only to Corydon, 31-28. Their victims include Louisville Male (31-29), Louisville Manual (41-23), Louisville St. Xavier (52-32), French Lick (29-22) and Austin (36-27).
Last year the Creekers went to the post 25 times and came under the wire first on 23 of these. One of the defeats was a 29-25 loss to New Albany in the sectional. The Creekers will be in the same district mix-up again this year and may cause no little trouble to Jeffersonville, New Albany and Corydon.

Graham in a gleeful mood the other 8
day, and the Indiana mentor declared his current crop of freshman basketballers is the second best he’s
had in six years. The blue ribbon, ot,
of course, goes to that yearling class of two years ago, including the two Mankes, Herman Schaefer, Paul Armstrong and Tom Motter. Graham said he thought 10 of this year’s team are capable of making the 1940-41 I. U. varsity squad. Here are some of the colts Graham expects to develop into classy 2-year-olds: Irving Swanson ef La Porte, Ed Denton of Je ofiville, Johnny Logan from Morton of Richmond, Bob White of Joliet, Ill, Hal Driver and Swift Wunker of Aurora, Milan Komenic of Gary, Joe Hienie of Ft. Wayne and Gene Miller and Charles Shanklin, a couple of boys familiar on local high school courts. Semi-Pros Held Key To Landis Situation
WICHITA, Kas., Jan. 24 (U.'P.). —Semi-pro baseball holds the answer to the problem’ ‘created for major league owners last week when High Commissioner K. M. Landis told them they would have to cur-
.{tail their activities in the minor ;| circuit, Raymond Dumant, presi-
dent of the Semi-Pro Congress, said
0 today.
“Let the sand lots of America be the proving ground for the young players who will be forced out of their baseball jobs if a lot of the
.ination’s smaller minor leagues fail
to open this year,” said Dumont. He said it was regrettable that the Landis ruling might result in the failure of many of the small minor circuit, because of a withdrawal of support by the major
