Funeral services are to be held Saturday in St. Louis for Carroll L. Cartwright, president of Carroll Cartwright, Inc., Studebaker distributors here. . Mr. Cartwright, who was 45, died yesteriay at his home, 5251 Washington Blvd. The body .is at the Blackwell Funeral Home. = He Had made his home here since last September. Born in St. Louis, he represented the DeSoto Motor Corp. there for several years and then. became DeSoto-Plymouth dealer at San Antonio, Tex., in 1936. "+ Mr, Cartwright ‘was prominent in civic affairs at St. Louis and San Antonio. He was a member of the Indianapolis Auto Trade Association here. He was a 32d degree Mason. Survivors are his wife, Flora; two sons, Carroll Jr., of St. Louis, and Billy, Indiana University student; his mother, Mrs. Emma Cartwright, Indianapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. John Haggenjos, St. Louis, and Mrs. Al Garg ner, Passaic, N. J.

State Accounts Board, today are examining the books of J. E. McKinley, former. deputy New Albany Township trustee, who allegedly has admitted forgeries totaling $1000. A Grand Jury investigation of McKinley's office was planned. Officials say McKinley admitted in a signed | statement. that he forged claims for alleged killing of livestock hy dogs.

Mrs. Mary Francis F. Lord

Services will be conducted tomorrow for Mrs. Mary Francis F. Lord, who died yesterday. She was 85. A resident of Indianapolis for 32 years, Mrs. Lord lived at 1548 S. Harding St. She was a member of the Edinburg, Ill, Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America. ) Surviving are a son, Chester and two grandchildren, Harry Lord and Mrs. Mabel Blankeship, all of Indianapolis. The 1:30 p. m. services will be held at the Farley Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday at Mechanicsburg, Ill.

Services for Charles D. Broeking, |

who died Tuesday at his home, 715 N. Denny St., will be held at 1 p. m. tomorrow at the Moore & Kirk Irvington Mortuary and at: 1:30 p. m. at the Zion Evangelical Church. Burial will be at Crown Hill. Mr. Broeking, who was 78, was an employee of the Vonnegut Hardware Co., and had at one time been associated with the Mutual Fire and the Mutual Building and Loan Insurance companies. Survivors include his wife, Anna; a daughter, Mrs. Emma - Roesener, Indianapolis, and five sons, Carl, Arthur, Herbert, Harold, all of Indianapolis, and Alvin of Milwaukee.

Fred Peter Fox

Fred Peter Fox of St. Louis and formerly of ‘Indianapolis, died yesterday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Anna M. Fox, 2617 N. Harding St. He was 47. Mr, Fox was taken ill after he and his wife came here for the Christmas holidays. He was born here and lived here until 10 years ago. He was a pressman at the Indianapolis Star fot 16 years and later was a deputy when George Winkler was sheriff of Marion County. Mr. Fox was a member of the St. Louis Truth Center, Center Lodge F. & A. M.,, and Pressmen’s Union No. 17. : Survivors are his wife, Myrtle; his mother; two sisters, Mabel Fox and Mrs. Russell Duke, and a niece, Gladys Duke, all ‘of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held -at 3 p. m., Saturday at the Planner & Buchanan Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crown Hill.

Harry Gotschal, resident of Indianapolis for one year, died yesterday at his home, 55 S. Linwood Ave. . Mr. Gotschal, who was 55, was former proprietor of the City Restaurant of Richmond. . He was a member of the East

Funeral arrangements were to be completed today.

INCREASE. REPORTED IN FAIRBANKS FUND

A substantial gain in value during the last year was made by the Cornelia Cole Fairbanks Memorial Fund, trustees reported yesterday to City. Controller James E. Deery. The fund, esabiished with a $50,-. 000 gift by the late Charles Warren Fairbanks, former vice president of the United States, has more than doubled. The trustees reported that on Dec. 30, 1939, the market value of assets held totaled $112,924, an increase of $6436 for the year, while the face value, $100,041, was an increase of $3100

The charter provides that the funds be invested for a period of 50 years before any charitable distribution is made. Hilton U. Brown is treasurer.
