Orrin Tucker Orchestra
Ted Nicholas will leave the Lyric Theater, which he has managed gince 1033, on Tuesday to become manager and personal representative for Orrin Tucker and his orchestra and Bonnie Baker. He will go to Chicago for the Tucker band's eight-week engagement at the Palmer House, and thence to New York, where the orchestra and Miss Baker will take over a commercial network spot under the same
sponsorship as Kay Kyser and the Hit Parade broadcasts. Mr, Nicholas will have complete charge of the orchestra's business affairs, A long-time resident of Indianapolis, Mr. Nicholas attended Technical High School, where he was president of his graduating class, and later studied journalism at Northwestern University, He has been advertising manager of the Indiana and Circle Theaters, assistant manager at Loew's, manager of Keith's for a brief period and business manager of the Civic Theater. During the stock season of the Arthur Casey Players he was English's publicity director, and in 1028-20 was motion pictures editor of the Indianapolis News, Mr, Nicholas is president of the Tech Alumni Association, and a member of the Indianapolis Press Club, Variety Club and Indianapolis Athletic Club. Only Horace Heidt and Phil Harris have attracted more customers.

Charles M. Olson, president of the Lyric Theater Operating Co., will return from a California vacation to assume the Lyric’s management on Mr, Nicholas’ departure.
