SERVEL REPORTS GREATER PROFITS
Times Special EVANSVILLE, Ind, Dec. 14.— Servel, Inc. today reported a net 38.672.076.43. 728 | Profit for the fiscal year ended Oct. 1347100081131 of $2,926,265 after Federal taxes and all other charges were paid. The earnings were equivalent, aft(er payment of dividends on the preferred stock which has been called for retirement as of Dec. 30, to $1.62 a share on 1,781,426 shares of out-
standing common stock. The company, which manufactures gas and kerosene household refrigerators and commercial refrigerating equipment here, made a (net profit of $1,572,469 the previous | fiscal year or 85 cents a share on the common stock. The fourth quarter net profit this year was equivalent to 32 cents a share as compared ‘with 17 cents last year.

The bonus is more than double that of last year, Mr. Lindgren said. | 16 is part of the $1,500,000 Christ{mas distribution throughout [company’s stores in the nation. Mr. Lindgren said those eligible are employees earning less than | $5200 annually and who have been with the company more than six months. The Christmas bonus is in addition to the recently-announced ($25,000 free insurance grant extended to A. & P. employees in the Indianapolis unit, The money is to be distributed among the company's 1600 employes in the district which includes central and southern Indiana, the east part of central Illinois and the west part of central Ohio.
BRITAIN REMOVES TIN RESTRICTIONS
LONDON, Dec. 14 (U. P.).—The | British Ministry of Supply has re{moved all price restrictions on tin, | thereby permitting Empire produc|ers to benefit from high prices now [prevailing in world markets. | At the same time the Colonial | Office announced the Governor of |the Straits Settlement has terminated all price fixing on tin in that Imarket. Heretofore the Government had fixed maximum prices at £230 per ton, contrasted with the ruling quotation of around £300 in outside markets.
