A surprising and gratifying audience crowded the Gothic confines of the Scottish Rite Cathedral auditorium last night to hear the annual
Christmas concert presented by the Jordan Conservatory of Music. The performers were the conservatory orchestra, conducted bv Fabien Sevitzky, the Jodan-Butler Choir and Marie Zorn, who appeared as piano soloist with the orchestra. It seems in the old days some of the donors would drop off a bag of potatoes at a theater door with the request that “a bunch of kids” be let in free. People would bring a bag of groceries instead of a can of beans, Thus there were movie groceries for each individual. Now the number of persons seeing food shows is much greater than it used to be. The number of persons fed is just about the same. Mr. Zeven savs: “Bring a dozen cans of food if vou can. Remember vou aren't just seeing a show You're feeding a family.” A few vears after the Zaring's shows, the Indiana Photoplay Endorsers took over sponsorship of the affairs. They handle most of the Food shows in the City now.
