Claude Allison found a pocketbook with eight half-dollars in it in 1928 and no one ever called for it. Once the janitor at the Strand found a diamond ring. It had dropped in one of the expansion cracks in the theater's cement floor. As he picked it up the office phone rang—it was the owner. She'd just discovered the loss. The theater managers are going to participate in our “Best Picture of the Year” choice. They'll also name the best actress and actor and the best supporting player. Our choices right now are “Goodbye, Mr. Chips,” Robert Donat, Bette Davis and Donald Crisp. » ” ”
