‘Representatives of Indianapolis civic organizations will meet at noon tomorrow at the Central Y. W. C. A. to launch an attack on the city’s No. 1 winter problem— smoke. ‘The meeting will mark the beginning of co-ordinated efforts by

Principal speaker at the meeting, sponsored by the Indianapolis Smoke Abatement League, will be Frank Chambers, :chief deputy smoke inspector of ‘Chicago and secretary of the National Associa-
. tion for Smoke Prevention. Mr.
Chambers will explain the recent Chicago ordinance which provides for annual boiler and furnace inspections with an inspection fee which finances: smoke abatement work in that city. Other speakers at the meeting will be Dr. Herman G. Morgan, City Health Board secretary, who will discuss the effect of smoke on lung tissue; and Roy O. Johnson, League counsel, who will review the League's smoke abatement ef-
forts. Details of tomorrow’s. meeting were planned at a League execu= tive committee conference at City

Times Special MARION; Ind, Nov. 28-—If Nellie. doesn’t. eat too much, the much-publicized sorrel mare is safe from the fertilizer factory for a. good ‘long time. ‘When County officials revealed there*was no money to feed the aged workhorse at the Children’s Home, citizens began raising funds to save her. Now, with the books on the campaign closed, Nellie has a bank account of $19, and a larder stocked ' with -four bushels of corn, a bale of hay and two shocks of corn. .
News .of Nellie’s plight spread over the State and many newspapers carried daily stories of the campaign’s progress.
