Jacobus Says He Won’t Run Again
NEW YORK, Nov. 10 (U. P).— George Jacobus, who resigned as president of the Professional Golfers’ Association yestérday after a term of six years, said today that he believed the time had come for him to “make room for a successor
who will carry on for the good of the P. G. If the opinion of The Times’ “Board of Experts” worth anything this week, Hoosierdom’s Big Three is in for a trying week-end. Notre Dame is: the unanimous Selection to beat Iowa but some of the boys add phrases
like “not too sure” and “by a whisker.” They're more
‘confident that Northwestern will stop Purdue and that Indiana is easy pickings for Fordham. On 19 of the nation’s 25 biggest games this Saturday, the experts— Eddie Ash of The Times: Elmer Layden, Notre Dame's coach; Harry n of United Press; Jerry Brondfield of NEA Service, and = ‘Bob Godley—are in accord.” They vary a bit on the other six. But b- remember you can always choose your own. Here ‘tis:
