CITY TO ACCEPT NEW SCHOOL IN SERVICE TODAY

Dedication Set for 7:30 as Part of Education Week Program.

Formal dedication of School 91, 51st St. and Baltimore Ave. will

highlight today’s local observance of American Education Week.”

The ceremony will begin at 7:30 p. main the auditorium of the new $240,000, 16-classroom school, with Miss Adelaide McCarty, principal, presiding,

‘Earl Buchanan, School Board president,-will deliver a formal presentation speech, with DeWitt S. Morgan, schools superintendent, accepting. Prayers will be given by the Rev. R. M. Best and the Rev. Glenn ‘Reynolds.

Choirs and Chorus to Sing

Music will be furnished by the primary, elementary and junior high school chojrs and the mothers’ chorus, and pupils will present a program telling of the history of the school. Mrs. Gilbert Bentley, president of the school's ParentTeacher Association, will speak. +The new building replaces one at 46th St. and Keystone Ave. Tech High School will hold an open house from 1:30 to 9 p. m. At 7:15 the debate squad will argue the proposition: “Resolved: That the Federal Government -Should . Own and Operate the Railroads.” Margaret Antibus and Robert Tervican will take the affirmative side while Raymond Conerty and Mary Isabel Benedict will take the negative. Wilma Grabhorn will serve as

chairman.

Movie to Be Shown

A motion picture entitled “A Day at School 13” will be shown at that -school, 714 Buchanan St., from 7 to 8 p. m. today. | “Education for Civic Responsibilities” will be the subject for a panel discussion by pupils from the junior high school at School 14, 1229 E. Ohio St., from 7 to £:30 p. m., and K. V. Ammerman, principal of Broad Ripple High School, will speak at School 16, 1402 W. Market St., tonight. = A mother’s party is to be held from 2 to 3 p."m. today at School 19, 1624 Quill St. ~.C. B. Breidenbaught of the Indiana Boys’ School at Plainfield, will speak at School 25, 400 E. Merrill St., at its open house tonight.

ADVISE VACCINATION FOR INFANTS UNDER 1

Times Special * FRENCH LICK, Ind, Nov. 9— Vaccination of children againsi smallpox before they are one year old was advocated here today by Dr. Louis Segar of Indianapolis, in an address before the Third District Medical Society meeting. He said prevention of the common cola is still an unsolved problem and advocated awarding blue ribbons to school children who stayed home because of a cold. 3 Dr. Segar, who is professor of children’s diseases at the Indiana School of Medicine, said putting a premium on. school attendance re3ults in children being in class when they ought to be home in bed. ‘Dr. Virgil E.
