Proposed highway projects for 1940 calling for - expenditures of more than 10 million dollars are being studied by the State Highway Commission. - “Following a wolicy inaugurated last year, members of the Commission are ma personal inspection of all projécts considered for inclusion in the 1940 construction program,” T. A. Dicus, Commission chairman, said. In addition to completing projects already started, the Commission will select new roads for improvement from recommendations made by district engineers. Members of the Commission will make a series of inspection trips to all highways which engineers have recommended for inclusion in the 1940 program, Mr, Dicus said. “After these inspections the Commission will make selections and order specifications,” he added. During the year ending last June 30, the State Highway Department’s total expenditures exceeded 23 million dollars.
