St. Vincent’s Guild Plans Three Events

St. Vincent’s Hospital Guild has scheduled its annual Founder’s Day party for Jan. 24. The organization’s seventh annual supper dance will be April 6. Olive Enslen Tinder will review “Mr. Emanuel” (Louis Golding) at the guild’s guest day meeting Monday at the hospital. Sisters of the hospital, nurses and friends have been invited to attend. ~~ The week-end will be a busy one for Miss Courtenay Whitaker. She will be married Friday to Nelson Ferebee Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Stamps Howard, Tarboro, N. C Miss Whitaker is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joel Whitaker. Miss Mary Jane Hamerstadt will give a party tomorrow night for the couple and about 24 friends. The group will dance at the Indianapolis Athletic Club and will have supper there. A. Reid Winsey, head of the fine arts department at DePauw University, was elected president of

the Indiana Federation of Art Clubs today at the 15th annual convention at John Herron Art Museum. Mrs. C. O. Lee of Lafayette was elected’ second vice president. A corresponding secretary will be appointed later by the president. New directors named were Miss Catherine Martin of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Myron J. Busby, Terre Haute, and Mrs. David M. Klausmeyer, Indianapolis. Mrs. John T. Wheeler will present a resolution this afternoon at a session at Block’s auditorium asking all clubs, agencies, businesses, etc., to co-operate “in a dynamic demonstration of art during national art week” in future years.

A tea honoring newly elected officers was to be served from 3 until 5 o’clock this afternoon. Mrs. Howard Williams was chairman of hostesses for the tea.
