Mr. Morris retired four years ago after operating the Columbia Hotel at Greenfield many years. He also owned a grocery in New Salem and had farmed near Elwood. ~ CHICAGO, Oct. 30 (U.P).-—A three-member Circuit Court of Appeals took under advisement today the appeal of Olin R. Holt, former

Mayor 6f Kokomo, Ind., from conviction for conspiracy to defraud the Government. Holt was sentenced to 15 months in Federal Prison and. fined $5000 by a U, S. District Court last June 5 upon conviction with five others of conspiraing to use WPA labor for private profit. In argument today U. S. District

reiterated the Government's charge that the City officials plotted the purchase of approximately $1,000,000 of old brick at $4 a thousand for resale to the city of Kokomo at $10 a thousand after WPA laborers had cleaned the brick and enhanced their value.
