WITH A SONG ON THEIR LIPS
British Forces Put Political |
Twists to Popular Tunes As They March.
SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE, Oct. 20 (U, P.).--The British Expeditionary Force has found songs with a political twist to add to the “Long, Long ‘Trail a-Winding” and “Tipperary” their fathers sang as they marched over French roads 25 years ago. The most popular is a parody’ of “Little Sir Echo,” which goes:
“Little Old Hitler, “We're sorry for you, “Boo-00! B00-20!. Boo-o00! “The Siegfried Line “Wwe’ll soon be through, “At you! Atl you! At you! “We're on our way— “There’ll be the devil to pay! “So poor little Nazi “Please come to our party “Boo-00! Boo-00! Boo-00!
The amored corps has a peody on “Boomps A Daisy” whic the rocking motion of a tank over trenches. The upening lires run:
“Heil hit—boomps a daisy “Tanks trip over the top! “0, Sergeant take it easy “Berlin will be our first stop”
