INDIANA EDITOR DIES OF HEART I AILMENT HERE
A. J. Brodhecker, Brownstown, Was 70; Funeral Set for 2 Tomorrow.
Andrew J. Brodhecker, senior editor of the Brownstown Banner, died yesterday at Methodist Hospital of coronary thrombosis. He was 70 and became ill Friday. Mr. Brodhecker was a leader in Brownstown community nearly half .a century.| He was known widely over the state among
newspaper men and was a member }
of the Indiana Democratic Editorial Association and the Hoosier State Press Association. He hed been publisher of the Banner for 42 years.
Did Not Seek Office
Mr. Brodhecker was artive in Democratic politics but never sought public office. Citizens of Brownstown presented him with a silver “loving cup several years ago in appreciation of his civic activities. In 1924 his paper was selected by the Indiana University chapter of Sigma Delta Chi as the best weekly newspaper in the state. He was born April 27, 1869, in Brownstown, the son of Conrad Brodherker and Louisa Brodhedker. He was graduated | from | the Brownstown High School. | On Nov. 1, 1894, he was married to Cora DeAlba Shephard, also of Brownstown. Plant Burned in| 1899
Mr. Brodhecker bought the Banner in 1897. Two years later the plant burned, but the paper continued publication and never has missed a publication date since Mr: Brodhecker assumed control. | He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Knights of Pythias Lodge. He is survived by his wife; a twin sister, Miss Margaret Brodhecker; and a half-sister, Miss Vinnie Schafferman, both of Brownstown; another half-sister, Mrs. Carrie Oliver, Crawfordsville; -three sons, Claude G. Brodhecker, Rolland A. Brodhecker and Lou Allen Brodhecker, and a daughter, Mrs. Richard Robertson, all of Brownstown. Funeral services will be at 2 p. mtomorrow in the Brownstown residence. The Rev. Robert Crosby, Presbyterian Church | pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Clyde S. Black, Methodist Church pastor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

BUILD BIG TOWBOAT AT JEFFERSONVILLE
Times Special JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. Oct. 16. —A 47-foot, all-steel towboat is being built here by the Howard Ship Yards and Dock Co., which is to be used by the William B. Brokamp Coal Co., Cincinnati. The new boat will be powered with a 90-hourse-power oil burning Kahlenberg engine of the Diesel type. A cabin has been planned with accomodations for a crew of five.
LAKE COUNTY TAXES TENTH DELINQUENT
Times Special wv GARY, Ind., Oct. 16.—Lake County’s property tax collection was 10.15 per cent delinquent when the first installment was due May 20. County Auditor Joseph E. Finerty reported today. The current tax collection tot al was $5,806,281 or. $666,410 less than the expected yield of $6,562,691. The delinquency for the same period last year was 10.23 per cent.

WILLIAM R. GRIFFITH DIES AT VERSAILLES
Times Special VERSAILLES, Ind, Oct. 16.— William R. Griffith, former Ripley County Republican chairman, died yesterday at his home after a long illness. He was 69. Services will be held tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Griffith was State oil inspector for eight years, and served as Johnson Township trustee for eight years.

Harry Hastey died yesterday at his home, 657 Erie St., where he had resided for the past 50 years. Mr. Hastey, who was 71, had been blind for many years. His death was due to a heart attack, Dr. Hugh K. Thatcher, deputy coroner, said. Mr. Hastey had no immediate relatives, Dr. Thatcher said.

Mary E. Carmichael
Miss Mary E. Carmichael, former Indiana State Board of Charities member and for 24 years an Indianapolis resident, died yesterday at her home in Brookville. Funeral services will be held tomorrow. Miss Carmichael, who was 83, taught school in Brookville for 22}! years before coming to Indianapolis as a member of the Charities Board children’s department in 1901. In 1917 she became special agent in charge of older girls. During her service she was said to have found homes for more than 1090 children, and to have visited 8000 young persons in homes chroughout the state. Miss Carmichael had made her home in Breokville since her. retirement in 1925. Survivors are three nieces and four nephews.

RUPPRECHT, ‘SLAIN, RETURNS TO MUNICH
MUNICH, Germany, Qct. 16 (U. P.).— Former Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, head of the royal Bavarian House of Wittelsbach, has returned to Munich from Savar, Hungary, where during the Polish campaign he was a guest of his brother, Prince Franz.
The French Agence Radio News Agency. in a dispatch from Lubliana, Jugoslavia, alleged that Prince
the Polish campaign. The further allegation was made that he was actually killed by members of Adolf Hitler's special guard. It was added, in this dispatch, that there was wide discontent in aristocratic and Catholic circles in Germany as the result of Rupprecht’s “death.”
PROPOSE FIVE NEW GARY BUS ROUTES
Times Special GARY, Ind. Oct. 16.—Gary Railways has petitioned the Indiana Public Service Commission for permission to establish five new bus routes in the south and eastern sections of the city. The deadline for remonstrances is Nov. 3, and the company proposes to begin operations over the new routes Nov. 6, or 30 days thereafter, Col. Hamilton said. Four new motor coaches, each with a seating capacity of 36 persons, already have been ordered.
