KEEP BROOKSIDE
BUS LINE, GROUP PETITION URGES
Committee Named to Make Formal Protest Against Feeder Substitute.
A committee of Brookside Parkarea residents was prepared today
to protest formally to the Indianap-|
olis Railways against a proposed abandonment of the established bus line in the Brookside vicinity. Appointed at a meeting last night in the home of Mrs. William A. Hayes, 1564 N. Rural St., the committee will seek to prevent substitution of a feeder bus service for
the present bus line, The members plan to discuss the situation with Charles W. Chase, Indianapolis = Railways president, and James P. Tretton, vice president and general manager, upon Mr. Chase's Feturn from Washington, The committee is authorized to oppose the propos change at a hearing before the Works Board. Approximately 200 persons attended last night's] meeting and signed a petition outlining their stand. The committee is headed by Thomas C. Whallon, attorney, and includes Mrs. Hayes, M. J. Traub, D. H. Alfke, Mrs. R. A. Reinhard, Mrs. Josephine Fellows and Miss Mildred Christenberry. The present plan|is to abandon the E. 16th St.-Emerson Ave. and E. 21st St.-Ritter Ave. lines, and to install feeder bus service to the E. 10th St. and Brookside trolley line terminals. It was contended at last night's meeting that this proposal would leave patrons in the Rural St. vicinity without transportation service; that it would further overload . the E. 10th St. and Brookside lines; that it would>prove inconvenient for pupils at Technical High School
showrooms.
Odd Fellows’ Is Strictly Mum on War|
Judge George S. Starrett, Columbia, Mo., is probably one of the only old- line Missouri Democrats in existence who won’t discuss the war,
or other politics. = | He is the Grand Sire of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of the World and'is here for the Indiana convention. His duties require that he live up to the highest rank of some 2,000,000 Odd Fellows in the world. “Odd Fellows leaves all politics out of Odd Fellow business,” he explained. The thing he likes to talk about most, is the lodge and he predicts a 10 per cent membership gain the coming year. b The convention here is one of the first meetings he has attended since becoming Grand Sire at Minneapolis last month. He has come up through all the offices of Ocdd Fellows since joining
and St. Philip Neri Parochial School, and for operators employed at the brill lelephons exchange.

Mr. Marshall gulped a couple of times and said “Hello.” What went on for the next few minutes neither of them could remember, but after that Mr. Marshall spent. hs time remarking to friends: “Isn't she pretty. Isnt she smart.” Mr. Marshall's first wife reared the child in Cuba. A few days ago: the singer went into Supreme Court. and demanded that Mrs. Marshall bring the child back to this country. He was surprised when opposing counsel said the child already was in the United States. A meeting place was then arranged. ‘

“l Suffered So Long And So Much That At Times I Did Not Want To Get Well,” He Declares In Remarkable Endorsement of Famous Medicine.
“I was a victim of poor health and nervous indigestion for twenty years. I tried medicines and treatments until I thought nothing would help me, and at times I suffered so much and felt so discouraged I did not want to get well Retonga overcame my troubles and built me up thirty-three pounds. No ‘words are strong enough to express my gratitude to this wonder-| ful medicine, and I hope you will publish the facts in my case over Indiana so others who. are suffering the tortures I went through will know about Retonga.” This astonishing and heartfelt endorsement of Retonga comes from Mr. Harry Owens, well-known resident of 415 Bicking St., Indianapolis. word as his bond. Giving the details of his happy recovery through the famous new roots, herbs, and barks medicine, Mr. Owens states: “After eating I felt so stuffy I could hardly breathe. Many nights
until after 2 o'clock. If I ate an egg it would nearly kill me. My nerves were in such terrible condition the least excitement made me fly all to pieces. I had hard, piercing pains ' in my knees and Wrists. All my strength seemed gone and as no treatment or medicine benefited mé the future seemed to hold nothing but misery and suffering. “So many people are praising Retonga I tried it, and I began to improve from the very start. Now every sign of indigestion, pain and nervousness is gone, and the thirtythree pounds I have regained all ‘seems to be solid flesh and strength. 1 feel like a man made over new, the job every 28%: and en-
