A total of $1,882,841 was invested in 127 insured saving and loan associations in Indiana during August, Nugent Fallon, general manager of the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corp. at Washington, reported today. There are now a- total of 107,259 investors in these associations and their savings amount to $91, 102,120, Mr. Fallon said. August home loans made by the associations was placed at 1615 for a total of $2,211,354. Assets of the insured associations were $123,067,580 on Sept. 1, an incrsase of $11,524,650 in the period of 12 months, Mr. Fallon said.

Bank clearings in Indianapolis for the week ended yesterday fell sharply. below the previous week ‘and was lower than the year-ago week. Clearings for 22 cities measured by Dun é& Bradstreet, Inc., declined from last‘week, but refnained above the year-ago level for the 10th consecutive time. Loeal clearings this week totaled $18,124,000 as compared with $20,523,000 last week and $18,668,000 in the corresponding week of 1938.
