ARMS REVISION
City Folk Agreed On One Thing—U. S. Should ‘Stay Out.’
On the basis of a survey taken at random downtown today, Indian-| apolis favors some sort of revision| of the arms embargo by Congress. | All persons interviewed, what-| ever else their opinion, stated ve-| hemently that they hoped this] country will not be drawn into the current European conflict, Four persons were for outright] repeal, four for a “ecash-and-carry” provision, one against action of any kind, and one undecided The comments are EDWARD MORGAN, 1722 Ruckle St, parking lot attendant: “I think the arms embargo ought to be repealed to enable us to improve our; business and to help the allies.” BEN BRODY, New York City, drug salesman: “I'm in favor of Bernard Baruch's suggestion of cash and carry I think this would enable us to sell arms and materials without risking our ships or lives. It would help business.” THOMAS H. FITZ, attorney, 3454 N. Pennsylvania St.: “I have not been able to arrive at any conclusion for the reason that should we refuse to sell arms to nations offering us cash it might cause international complication. If we did sell, it would certainly result in economic chaos at the end of the war, which would approximate the situation we found ourselves in at the end of the last war.” Ex-Teacher Favors Repeal MRS. EVA GRAY RENNICK, 1718 N. Illinois St. housewife and former schoolteacher: "It does seem to me the act should be repealed and that this nation should revert to international law as far as selling to the nations at war is concerned. I think this is best way to keep us out of war. England and

Once upon a time, more than 100 vears ago, William Anderson, an Owen County farmer, took down his ax and went into the woods. He chopped down a couple of likely looking sassafras trees. Object: a new pair of pants, This may seem a roundabout way, as one sees things from here, of getting a pair of pants. But William Anderson knew what he was doing. He fashioned the trees into a loom and Mrs. Anderson wove him a pair of pants on the loom. That made the greatest of sense in those days. All the cloth the family used was
