Fall’s Arrival Signalized by Junior League's First Meeting
The arrival of Fall is recognized officially when the Indianapolis Junior League starts meeting. The first general meeting will be tomorrow at Woodstock, with a business session at 10:45 a. m., luncheon, sports and bridge in the afternoon. Four other meetings have been announced for League members, including a field trip Oct, 3 to the Indiana School for the Blind; a trip to the Occupational Therapy Department at Riley Hospital on Oct, 20: a meeting Oct. 23 at the theater head-

It’s back to school for pupils at Tudor Hall with the opening day Wednesday. “Big sisters,” all the juniors and seniors at the school, are making extensive plans for welcoming the newcomers, Mildred Milliken, president of the Student Government Association, and Letitia Sinclair, president, head the “big sister” committee, Each new student is assigned a “big sister” who aids her in finding classes, becoming acquainted with the faculty and students and adjusting herself to school life, Miss I. Hilda Stewart, principal, will speak at a general meeting of all classes from the first grade through the upper school at 8:30 Wednesday morming. Short class sessions will follow and school will be dismissed at noon. A half-day schedule with dismissal at noon will be observed for the remainder of the week. The Kindergarten, under the direction of Miss Elizabeth Davol, will open at 9 a. m. Wednesday,
Mics Milliken Whll Preside
Miss Milliken will preside at a student council meeting Wednesday afternoon to outline student government regulations for the year and to lay plans for the all-school party on Sept. 30. Miss Sinclair will hold a senior class meeting Thursday and the juniors, with Eva Taggart as president, will meet Friday. Resident pupils will arrive tomorrow and the first faculty meeting will be at 7 p. m. tomorrow in the residence. Mrs. George T. Parry will be hostess at a meeting of the Filmarte Guild's membership, picture selection and arrangements committees al a tea Oct. 4 at her home.
