‘Little Steel’ Plans Ready: Strategists Feel Firms Will Make Terms Quickly.

The union organizing drive is timed to take advantage of boom orders and prospective profits. Companies hitherto hostile to C I. O. unions are expected to come 10 terms more quickly as the demand for labor and production steps up, according to the C. I. O. strategists “Little steel” will feel the first force of the organizing drive. Major activity also is beginning in ship-! building, maritime, aviation, and automobile industries Won't Slow Other Drives ! Concentration in the war industries will not slow down the current campaigns in the textile, construction and meat packing industries, where C. I. O. leaders claim rapid gains during the last month The boom comes at an excellent time for C. I. O. especially in the automobile and industries In automobiles, the C. I. NEW CASTLE, Ind, Sept. 13 P) —Coroner Ralph Niblock is still unpaid for a recent inquest he performed, but at least he knows where his check is. He entered the Auditor's office yesterday to pick up the check, but it was not at hand. His claim for payment was missing also. Auditor's employees searched diligently and found the check. The only trouble was that it was made pavable to the man on whom the inquest had been performed

Times Special WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 —Six! Indiana Rural Electric Membership Corp. projects were allotted $590.000 for line construction by the Rural Electrification Administration today The largest allotment was $250,.000 to the Newton County REMC to build 263 miles of line to serve 649 members in Newton, Jasper and Benton Counties. The Warren County REMC, Willlamsport, was allotted $160,000 to build 145 miles to serve 505 members in Benton, Vermillion and White Counties. The project had a previous allotment of $290,000, Other additional allotments cluded: Carroll County REMC, Delphi, £30,000 for 29 miles to serve 100 members in Cass. Tippecanoe, Carroll and White Counties.
