October. The drive will continue for 12 days. Last year a total of $657,000 was raised in contributions. A total of 68,000 persons contributed to the Fund last year. In 1920, during the first year of the drive,
there were > only 12,000 contributors.
JOHN TWITTY DIES; FOUNDED 2 BANKS

He founded the State Bank of Loogootee and the State Bank of Washington, serving as cashier in both institutions 10 and 14 years respectively, He was born in Martin County and taught public schools there and in Daviess County for 15 years. He came to Indianapolis in 1919. He was a member of the Central Ave= nue Methodist Church. Mr. Twitty left a note to his family, saying he had been ill for some time and was despondent. : He is survived by his wife, Emma; three sons, John W., Indianapolis; J. Dwight, Kewanna, Mo., and Victor, Palo Alto, Cal, and two daughters, Mrs. Edith McLeod and Mrs. Andrew C. Meyer, both of Indianapolis.

dian who suffered from arthritis 1500 years ago was announced today |
by William A. Ritchie, Rochester archaeologist.
