Organizer Furnishes Bail

John. Soucie, also of Evansville, a union organizer, was arrested on aj. rioting charge the night of the fight, but furnished $500 bail. George Felk, a Millersburg laborer on the project, was held without charge for Grand Jury action. Sheriff Barclay said that Felk had admitted that he shot John Pilkelton, 35, fatally, during the struggle, and slightly wounded George Hammond, another laborer.

Work on Project Closes

Work on the project was closed today and State Labor Department mediators were reported. fo be conferring with O. P. Ollinger of Huntingburg, the contractor, and union officials regarding a settlenient. Mr. Ollinger said the trouble was “uncalled for’ and charged that he offered to unionize the bridge proj«ct as the union demanded but that the union wanted him to unionize a road construction project which he also is directing. This he would not do, he said.
