KOKOMO, Ind. July 27.— If the Kokomo Police Department neyer sees Tom and Susie again it will be too soon, after what happened yesterday. : Tom and Susie are monkeys. They got out of their home, "the basement of the Carl: Dreher residence, and began biting children, When police arrived, the monkeys climbed a tree and proceeded down the street jungle fashion. Police followed. Finally Tom was captured but Susie . eluded the posse which by then was composed of the Chiet of Police, a captain, two detectives, four dog catchers, eight patrolmen and about 1000 citizens. . _ They located Susie in the Dreher home again. She hopped out of a window and picked up a police club which Police Chief Charles O'Neill had dropped. Police surrounded her with tear gas but she simply blinked. Finally she retired to the basement and surrendered peacefully.
