Events on the prenuptial calendar for summer brides have dwindled along with the rest of the summer social functions, although one bride-to-be has chosen her attendants and will be feted at a party tomorraw. Several showers have been announced for another future bride and one young woman has set the date for her wedding. Miss Jane Crawford. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hamry Go Crawford, 9863 N. Helen A. Taggart, Bride July 15, Chooses Wedding Attendants; Hospital Guilds Plan Vacations
Miss Helen Atkins Taggart, whose marriage to Joseph William Taylor, Rochester, N, Y. will take place at 6 o'clock next Saturday at the country home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex L. Taggart, 9400 Spring Mill Road, has announced her attendants. Mrs. Richard R. Deupree Jr. Cincinnati, a sister of the bride-groom-to-be, will be matron of honor. Mrs. Richard E. McCreary Jr, the former Miss Elizabeth Taggart, and Mrs. Robert Smith Montague Jr, Saginaw, Mich. formerly Miss Mona Taggart, will be bridesmaids. Both are sisters of the bride-to-be. Thomas C. Taylor, the bridegroom-to-be’s brother, will act as his best man. Another brother, Robert D. Taylor, will be an usher as will Richard R. Deupree Jr. Cincinnati, his brother-in-law, E 3 a x Through the long winter months members of the various hospital guilds industriously sew away on hospital supplies or plan entertainments for patients. Now that summer is here, several groups are taking well-earned vacations. Sunnyside Guild members are to spend Tuesday at Lake Manitou and a house party at Lake Maxinkuckee is planned for several workers in the St. Vincent's Guild. Up bright and early, at 7 a. m., Tuesday will be the Sunnyside women. A bus has been chartered for about 50 members and cars will provide transportation north for others. Four Guild members, Mesdames Leroy Martin, G. W. Bennington. George Hilgemeier and Gaylord Rust. will have all in readiness at their cottage for the progressive party during the day. Fishing, swimming. boating, bridge and just plain “lolling” is planned for members. Somehow, some way in the “do as you please” day members will get over to the Rochester Country Club for luncheon. That night several members’ husbands plan to drive up for the concluding festivities and to bring home their wives. The St. Vincent group will stay for an entire week at Lake Maxinkuckee. Daniels, will be married at 8 o'clock tonight at the home of the bride's parents on the Shelbyville Road. The Rev. Harry G. Rowe, pastor of the Whiteland Congregational Church, will perform the single ring service before an improvised altar in the living room at the Foster home. Flowers and greenery will bank the altar and decorate the rooms. Mr. Foster will give his daughter in marriage. Her gown will he of white shadowed organdy, fashioned with 'a bouffant skirt, fitted bodice, puffed sleeves and a square neck= line. She will wear a little ruffiect vestee, with a large ruffle at the hem of the skirt which extends into a slight train. Her fingertip-length veil cascades from a pointed crown of beads and she will carry a colo~ nial bouquet of roses and garden flowers. { Miss Marian Hittle, her only attendant, will be gowned in yellow French marquisette. Dellwood Cam p Invites Guests
Girl Scout campers at Dellwood will hold open house tomorrow from 3 to 6 p. m. for friends of the Come munity Fund and campers. Scouts will follow their daily pro gram and visitors will be conducted through the camp by the girls. Refreshments will be served in the various units. The camp is divided into four units, including Fairy Ring for the Brownies, Sherwood for the older Scouts, and Service and Woodland for the “in-betweens.”
