Resident of Indianapolis for Fifty Years Tells How Celebrated Medicine Ended Years of Suffering From Stiff Joints, Aches and Pains, and Sour Indigestion.
Another instance of Retonga’s astounding success in long standing cases of weakened, run down condition, years of suffering from sour indigestion, sluggish bowels, nervousness and kindred inorganic com. plaints, is the case of Mrs. Dora J. Hicks, 2727 N. Guilford Ave. a highly respected resident of Indianapolis for fifty years. Relating her experience with the celebrated roots, herbs and barks medicine, Mrs. Hicks said: “For years I have been growing slowly worse and worse until my condition was terrible. About five years ago I began having sour indigestion and gas on my stomach that finally got bad. Then my bowels became sluggish and laxatives became a regular habit. I became so nervous that even. the door bell would make me jump, and my back got so stiff and sore when I bent over and tried to

DEMOCRACIES FAILED SPAIN, SAYS TEACHER
13 NEW DETOURS
Lundin of I. U. Hits Lack of Courage; Butler Parley Will Close Tonight.
Democracy was crushed in Spain, because other European democracies lacked the courage and statesmanship to protect their own interests in Spain, Prof. C. L. Lundin, Indiana University, said at Butler University’s Midsummer Institute today. He said that “the majority of people in Spain wanted the Republic, but were unable to withstand the overwhelming military reinforcements which came to General Franco from Italy and Germany.” John A. Tate, meantime, said that the narrow and limited conception
more sane and scriptural point of view. Mr. Tate is state secretary of the Virginia Christian Missionary Society.
Ww. R. Walker Leads Discussion
W. R. Walker, secretary of the Illinois Christian Missionary Association, led the discussion on Mr. Tate's address and urged greater emphasis on evangelistic messages. Dr. P. H. Welshimer, Canton, O., who was to speak on Christian unity, was unable to attend because of illness. His paper was read by Prof. D. E. Walker, of the Butler College of Religion faculty, who presided. Dr. Welshimer wrote that Christian unity cannot be achieved by human calculations. “The divine program is the only certain basis which can give us that which we desire,” he said. The institute will close tonight with a sermon by George A. Campbell, St. Louis, editor of the Christian Evangelist.
Debate Dictators
S. S. Lappin, former editor of The Christian Standard, of Bedford, Ind., will lead the devotions before the sermon. “How Best to Oppose Totalitarianism” was the subject for the final debate between Harold E. Fey, secretary of the Fellowship Reconcoliation; James A. Crain, secretary of Temperance and Social Welfare of the United Christian Missionary Society, and H. L. Chaillaux of the Americanization Division of the American Legion. Mr. Fey advocates purely pacific means, Mr. Crain favors force as a last resort and Mr. Chaillaux urges a strong Army and Navy and using it when necessary.
