A drive te stop the use of trick “foreign” license plates on automobiles on Indiana highways was started today by State Police. Use of the plates, which has become a fad partiewlarly with youths, is confusing te police, according te Don F, Stiver, State Police snperintendent. He said the tags are identical in size and shape to regular plates. They bear names from Shanghai, London and ather foreign places.

Frank Finney, chief of the Automobile License Division, said that use of such plates ix a violation of Indiana law. He said driver's license of those arrested may be revoked and violators may be fined $1 to $500. A one-year prison ferm for use of fictitious plates also is provided in the law.

FT. WAYNE, Ind, June 29 (U, P.).—Funeral services will be held Saturday for Edward J. Braum, 51, former member of the State Legislature, who died at his home here last night. Mr. Braum, a member of the Democratic Party, served four terms in the lower house, in 1927, 1935 and 1937.
